Why climate change policies are not working?

The University of Pécs cordially invites faculty members, researchers, students and the general public to this exclusive scientific lecture. 

Despite billions of Euros being dedicated to climate change adaption and mitigation alongside vast technoligical breakthroughs the results in meeting these international commitments remain meanger. Lastes scientific data shows that temporarly exceeding the 1.5-degree global warming target is now inevitable, expected to begin by the early 2030s.

Prof. Mohamed Salih (PhD, University of Manchester, 1983) is Emeritus Professor of Pilitics of Development at the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus Uninversity Rotterdam in theNetherlands. For his exceptional work with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), he shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 as part of the panel. He was awarded an Honory Doctorate in Africal Studies by Coppenhagen University in Denmark for his contributions to the field. His lates publication, Development Theory and Clomate Change, was released in 2025.
