Dear Doctoral Students,

I would like to inform you about the most important tasks and deadlines for the beginning of the semester:

Registration period: 8am August 21 – 16pm September 12, 2025 (CET). If you wish to continue your studies in the autumn semester, please activate the 1/25/2026 semester in Neptun. Those who wish to become passive should set the passive status. I draw your attention to the fact that after the 8th active semester, it is no longer possible to activate/passivate the semester, as the student relationship ceases. After two consecutive passive semesters, an active semester must follow. Passivation is not recommended in the first 4 semesters, if absolutely necessary, we recommend passivation for 1 full year.

Course Registration: 10am August 28 – 16pm September 26, 2025 (CET).
The autumn semester of the doctoral program officially lasts from September 1, 2025 to January 31, 2025.
Autumn break: from October 29 to October 31, 2025.

Final deadline for submitting end-of semester doctoral report and the half-year presentation, organized by supervisors: January 19, 2026.

DOCTORAL DEFENSE : February 06, 2026.

1. semester doctoral students:
September 25, Thursday 09.30-16.30
October 9, Thursday 09.30-16.30
October 27-28, Monday and Tuesday – PhD & DLA Symposium - attendance is mandatory
November 6, Thursday 09.30-16.30 - MIK PARTNERS DAY - attendance is mandatory
November 27, Thursday 09.30-16.30

3. semester doctoral students:
September 26, Friday 09.30-16.30
October 10, Friday 09.30-16.30
October 27-28, Monday and Tuesday – PhD & DLA Symposium - attendance is mandatory
November 6, Thursday 09.30-16.30 - MIK PARTNERS DAY - attendance is mandatory
November 28, Friday 09.30-16.30

In 5th and 7th semester, the supervisors hold only consultations in individual dates.
Consultation subjects are also registered by the doctoral student in NEPTUN, no later than the course registration deadline.

All doctoral students are asked to start working with the supervisor(s). It is also advisable to prepare semester work plans together. Work plans should be sent to the Secretariat of the Doctoral School breuer@mik.pte.hu 
The form to be used is in the attachment.

Supervisors are responsible for the professional employment of doctoral students. After the start of the study period, supervisors and doctoral students should contact each other to start working. The supervisor's task is to help the compilation of the work plan and before the submission to check the work plan. Deadline for the submission of the work plan is the 2nd Doctoral School Day of the semester, in this semester 10 October 2025. It should be written in the work plan for which department, in what course, how many hours the doctoral student is teaching.
