The
five members of Tamikrest come from different regions of the world. Their music
is a tribute to the Touareg identity, spiced with modern rock influences. The
lyrics are about the never-ending desire for a free world. Through the message
of their songs, Tamikrest wants to make the poetry and culture of Tamasheq
accessible to the inhabitants of a world that is bigger than the Sahara desert.
Since
2006, Tamikrest have been one of the most prominent representatives of desert
rock, having toured the world several times. Highly recommended for all
Tinariwen fans!
