Scope of the research team
As one of its priority research areas, the research group is investigating the possibilities of integrating BIM (Building Information Modelling) into the Hungarian construction industry, partly by exploring and further developing existing practical applications and partly by developing new educational methodologies and training programs. In addition, the development of innovative BIM applications is underway, which are ground-breaking at international level.
For example, the reduction of adverse physiological effects on site using building information models. In this area, we are developing new processes and market products for the protection of occupational health and safety through the combination of BIM, algorithm-aided engineering, and AR/VR technologies. Another focus of the research group is sustainable architecture and urban development. In this area, parametric design, energy optimization, microclimate analysis, innovative applications of glass facades, glass support structures and shading, analysis of patterns of use of buildings by the individual, and applications of smart and sustainable urban development have resulted in a number of internationally recognized, prestigious publications. |

Research objectives of the research team
The research group's research aims to develop innovative solutions that meet industry needs to improve the quality, efficiency and safety of construction design and construction workflows. The developments involve experts from co-disciplines and the efficiency gains achieved through these developments are validated through continuous monitoring. Members of the research team have outstanding experience in BIM-based design and construction support for major projects, while the R&D&I partners involved in the research are in all cases at the forefront of their field.
A key research objective is the development of AR/VR applications that can be used to prevent accidents on site. One direction of development is aimed at preparing for work processes and responsible preparation for work safety; the other direction supports actual work in the context of the ever-changing conditions of the real work site. |
