CyberLab is ready for the Cisco challenge.
This year, we’re once again heading into Cisco’s annual Cybersecurity competition with strong chances. Our students have been preparing for the challenge in recent weeks, which this year is being held in cooperation between Cisco and Real Madrid. In the international competition, Cisco academies from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will measure their knowledge against one another. Our Faculty’s team achieved 2nd place in 2023 and 6th place in 2024. Our students are being mentored by professors from the Department of Cybersecurity and Networks and from Juhász Jenő College.
Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Chapter Design Challenge
The Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Chapter Design Challenge is back after a highly successful pilot, giving students the chance to tackle real-world engineering problems through an SDG-focused, people-centred design approach. This year’s Challenge is set in Cape York, Australia, where teams will develop sustainable, context-driven solutions for remote communities, considering environmental, social, and long-term impacts.

UP FEIT Earns Regional Huawei ICT Academy Status
Since 2022, UP FEIT has partnered with Huawei to operate the Huawei ICT Academy. Due to its strong performance, the Faculty may assume the role of a regional Academy Support Center starting in 2025. In this role, it will coordinate Huawei academies in Hungary, design instructor development, and host competitions. This regional appointment signals high recognition and strengthens UP FEIT’s leadership in digital higher education.
UP FEIT Architecture Program Earns Prestigious UNESCO-UIA International Accreditation
The Institute of Architecture at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (UP FEIT), has been awarded the prestigious UNESCO–UIA Architectural Education Accreditation, administered by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
The full, unconditional accreditation concludes a rigorous two-year evaluation process—an honour currently held by only 11 institutions worldwide.
